Jan Coetzee bottled Vriesenhof’s first wine in 1981 and went on to learn about winemaking in Burgundy under the tutelage of French traditional experts, bringing back knowledge that he adapted and applied at Vriesenhof. He is known for having been a pioneer of the Chardonnay varietal in the Stellenbosch region, and Vriesenhof’s current winemakers continue building on his legacy.
Wines produced include Pinot Noir, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Rosé, and assorted blends.
