In operation since 1941, Koelenhof Winery came into being as a cooperative initiative between local winemakers under the guidance of Pieter Hugo De Vries, going from strength to strength over the years.

Koelenhof produces a range of different wine brands with its flagship Stellenbosch 1679 having achieved wine awards around the globe. The winery produces both bottled and bulk wines in addition to providing bottling facilities to smaller producers.
Wines produced include Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage Rosé, Noble Late Harvest, Sangiovese, Pinorto, MCC, Vin-Sec, assorted blends, and sparkling grape juices.
Wine tastings, including pairings, are available from Mondays to Thursdays, 9am to 5pm, and Saturdays and public holidays from 10am to 4pm. The last tastings are hosted an hour before closing. Bookings are advisable 24 hours in advance for a cellar tour and standard wine tasting. The tour takes place Mondays to Fridays only, at 11am and 2pm. Other experiences include picnics, an enclosed play area for children, and roosterkoek. The Koelenhof playpark is available as a venue for children’s parties Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 4.30pm, Fridays from 9am to 3.30pm, and Saturdays and public holidays from 10am to 3.30pm.
