Stony Brook Vineyards was established during the mid-1990s by Nigel and Joy McNaught when they purchased an old fruit farm situated in the Franschhoek valley, where they eventually started cultivating the Tempranillo cultivar, among others.

Wines produced include Cap Classique, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and selected blends.

The Stony Brook tasting room is open Mondays to Thursdays, from 10am to 4.30pm; Fridays, from 10am to 4pm; and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. The tasting room is closed on Sundays. Check the website for opening hours during public holidays. Bookings are not required for groups smaller than six but do email or call ahead for groups larger than six. The maximum group size is 12. Stony Brook offers a range of accommodation in self-catering cottages. Activities on and around the farm include wine tasting, swimming, walks, fishing, and a swimming pool.
