Gallery

A family-owned estate, Groote Post boasts a historical homestead that dates to 1808. The Pentz family acquired the property in 1972 and expanded it to 2,800 hectares. Although it started as a dairy farm, its focus shifted to the planting of vineyards in 2001.
Wines produced include Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Shiraz, Brut Rosé, MCC Brut, Pinot Noir Rosé, and selected blends.
Wine tasting is available at the farm, accompanied by locally sourced cheese platters and charcuterie boards to pair with wines, seven days a week, including public holidays. Groote Post is closed on Easter Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Farm drives to explore Groote Post’s wilderness area can be booked – visitors can expect to see kudu, black wildebeest, giraffe, red hartebeest, bontebok, springbok, quagga, eland, and gemsbok.
