Established in 1693, Plaisir wine estate is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg mountain.

Plaisir is committed to sustainability, having restored sensitive areas to their natural state, with specialised teams dedicated to eradicating alien vegetation.
Wines produced include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Brut NV, Brut Rosé NV, Nectar NV, and selected blends. Gin is also produced.
Opening hours are Mondays to Sundays, from 8am to 5pm. No pets are allowed. The last tasting is 30 minutes before closing – bookings are recommended. Plaisir is partnered with the Franschhoek Wine Tram and is on the Navy and Orange line. Day permits for the nature trails (including MTB trail permits) on the farm are available from the tasting room or from security at the entrance gate. Trails are open Mondays to Sundays, from 8am to 6pm.
