Gallery

Established in 1695 by German immigrant Hans Hendrik Hattingh, La Motte boasts four provincial monuments, including its manor house, jonkershuis, cellar, and water mill. La Motte also takes its social responsibility seriously, investing in development and self-sufficiency initiatives, and it is a member of Ethical Trading Initiative. In recognition of its human ethics and employees’ working conditions, La Motte was awarded accreditation by the Wine Industry Ethical Trade Association. In addition, environmental management is prioritised. This includes the protection of fynbos on the adjoining Wemmershoek mountains and adherence to biologic principles in the production of grapes, flowers, and ethereal oils. La Motte was awarded the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification.
Wines produced include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Rosé, Shiraz, La Motte Reserve Cap Classique and Méthode Cap Classique, and selected blends.
La Motte offers a range of experiences that include a tasting room, bakery, art gallery, farm shop, dining options, pantry offerings, and hiking trails. This is a cashless facility.
