Situated against the Helderberg mountains between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, Avontuur has been bottling wines since 1987.

The Taberer family has owned Avontuur since 1984, and the farm is known not only for its award-winning wines but its thoroughbred horses. At present, the vineyards span 16 hectares, with a focus primarily on red plantings.
Wines produced include Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Brut Cap Classique, and selected blends.
The farm’s tasting centre offers a relaxed environment for tastings, while luxury accommodation is offered at the manor house. Visitors can enjoy fine dining at the Avontuur Estate Restaurant. For those wishing to book for events, the manor house and barrel cellar are available.
