The De Wet family has been involved in winemaking since their arrival in the Cape in 1694, and De Wetshof Estate is a third-generation estate that played a role in pioneering the introduction of the Chardonnay grape to South Africa.
Wines produced include Chardonnay, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Blanc de Blanc Cap Classique, Cabernet Sauvignon, late harvest, and Merlot.
The cellar’s historical façade is inspired by the first customs house in Cape Town, and the tasting room/administration offices is a replica of the Koopmans/De Wet House (1791) in Strand Street, Cape Town. The tasting room is open Monday to Saturday, and is open on public holidays, but closed on Good Friday, Family Day, Day of Goodwill, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
